Terms of Business

The way we work

When working  as a Pinnacle Property and Homes advisor, we’re committed to working with care, professionalism and integrity.

This means:

• Adapting the communication style to suit each client

• Aiming to always be non-judgmental

• Maintaining a high level of integrity in our work

• Presenting information clearly, accurately, and in a way that’s easy to understand

• Maintaining a broad, up-to-date knowledge of property related topics - including the Renters’ Rights Act

• Acting within the regulatory boundary of generic financial advice

• Recording information accurately, and observing all confidentiality and data protection requirements

Generic Advice

As part of our work together, we can offer guidance and support to help you gain clarity on your situation, which may involve discussing finances, understand your options, and make informed decisions. However, we are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and do not provide regulated financial advice. This means we will never:

• Recommend specific financial products such as pensions, investments, insurance or mortgages

• Advise you to buy, change or cancel any existing financial product

We may help you explore steps towards your goals and clarify your decision-making, but we ask that you take full responsibility for any actions you choose to take. We cannot accept liability for any loss resulting from decisions made based on our conversations. Where appropriate, we may suggest you speak to a regulated professional - such as an independent financial adviser or mortgage broker - for specific product advice. They will advise you under their own terms of business. If at any point you’re not happy with the service you’re receiving, please let us know. We’ll always aim to resolve any concerns quickly, openly, and with care.

Confidentiality

We treat all personal information you share with us as private and confidential - both during our work together and after it has ended. We may share limited information with other authorised personnel at Pinnacle Property and Homes Ltd. for internal business review purposes. We will only share information with third parties outside the Pinnacle Property and Homes Ltd. team under the following circumstances:

• If we are legally required to do so

• Where there is a duty to the public to disclose

• Where disclosure is necessary to protect our own interests or those of authorised personnel at Pinnacle Property and Homes Ltd.

• Where you request or consent to the disclosure

• Where disclosure is required for insurance or regulatory purposes

If we provide you with documents - whether tailored to you or more general - these are for your personal use only. All copyright and intellectual property rights in those materials developed by us, remain the property of Pinnacle Property and Homes. You agree that we may reuse general materials and ideas with other clients, as long as we do not breach my duty of confidentiality to you.

Session Structure and Fees

Our current fees are £80 per hour (excluding VAT as not VAT registered yet).

We begin by meeting at your property if possible, exploring your current situation, understand your goals, lay the foundations for our work together and begin next steps. After that, we’ll assess how the current plan of action is progressing. Next we decide together if any more support is required and to what degree. Individual and bespoke support of varying length is available.

Each session fee includes preparation time, our meeting (held in person or via Zoom), and note taking for our own record keeping. A written follow-up summarising key actions can be provided on request and, depending on what we’ve discussed and agreed, we may also share relevant links, notes, resources, or prompts, to support your progress.

Additional time/expenses may be chargeable - for example, travel time to a property. If we’ve agreed on extended email correspondence, phone calls, or follow-up work we carry out on your behalf. This would always be discussed and agreed in advance. We’ll continue to review how the work is going and adapt the structure to support your goals as we go.

If we do provide Services on the Customer’s premises, we agree to comply with all Customer policies (such as the on-site health and safety, environmental, diversity or security terms) as are brought to our attention prior to commencement of such Services.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

Missed or cancelled appointments will be charged in full unless you provide at least 24 hours’ notice. If you cancel or reschedule with more than 24 hours’ notice, we’ll either carry forward your payment to a future session or offer a refund - whichever suits you best.

Payment Terms

Invoices should be settled within 14 days of the invoice date. I reserve the right to charge interest on overdue invoices at a rate of 1.25% per month.

Email Communication

Unless you let us know otherwise, we’ll use email as the main way of communicating with you. While we take care with confidentiality, please be aware that email is not a fully secure form of communication - there is always some risk of delay, misdirection, interception or non-delivery. You acknowledge and accept that all email correspondence may be monitored by authorised personnel at Pinnacle Property and Homes Ltd. and may be subject to standard systems checks, including the use of anti-virus software.

Data Protection

We will store and process your personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. We collect and use your information to support the work we’re doing together - including keeping notes, scheduling sessions, and occasionally sharing relevant services or future events. Your data is stored securely and handled with care. Once our work together ends - either at the conclusion of a project or when you let me know you no longer require support - we will retain relevant records for our own professional files, in line with good practice and regulatory guidance. You have the right to request access to the information we hold about you at any time, and to ask for corrections or deletion where appropriate. For more detail, please see our Privacy Notice.

Independent Contractors; Compliance with Laws

Nothing in these terms of business will make the Customer and us; an employee, or otherwise associated in or with the business of the other. We will always remain an independent contractor.

Insurance

We will maintain Professional Indemnity insurance sufficient to cover all of our obligations under this Agreement in a minimum amount of £1,000,000 aggregate coverage per policy year;

We will hold Employer’s Liability and Public Liability Insurance as appropriate in respect of our business in accordance with any legal requirement for the time being in force.
